Russia!

Dear Internet,

I had good news quite a while ago but in my state of sheer excitement I forgot to share it - I will be doing a two week residency at the State Hermitage Museum in St. Petersburg, Russia!!
Myself and one other student from OCAD as well as two students from York and two form Concordia, will be off on a Russian adventure in August. I'm not entirely sure what's in store for us during the residency, but it will be marvelous to spend time in the museum, as well as explore the beautiful and historic city. Россия здесь я приезжаю!

Chrome and the Ice Queen EP

So a few months back I did a photoshoot with Lisa Conway for Chrome and the Ice Queen's new EP. You might remember them from my older post about a previous shoot (with more diamonds). Their music is beautiful and haunting, and happens to be inspired by Twin Peaks, so we decided to take inspiration (or just totally appropriate) from the photo of Laura Palmer (you know, the dead girl) of the show. Lisa makes a great dead girl, although much glammier, sparklier and more appropriate for a band's EP.
To check out the final product and listen to the album, which I highly recommend, visit their website!

Thirty-Five Minutes From Town

My wonderfully creative family; my sister, mom, dad and I, have mounted a family art show at the Art on Kent gallery of the Art Department in Lindsay. We installed on Sunday, the show features work in printmaking, collage, sculpture, installation and video. It's really interesting to look at our work together and see the correlations between all of our practices, both aesthetically and conceptually.

Here's the invite!
